Today, Lowes is one of the largest retail home improvement chain in the u.s. in fact, it is the second only The Home Depot. It operates more than 1700 retail locations in the u.s. serving over 14,000,000 customers a week. Lowes is not always large retailers box though. Initially they did not want to take the route of competitors with their huge mega store locations, but to survive they finally adopted the philosophy and it has paid off for them.
Just like its competitor, Lowes offers just about anything you can imagine you will need for your construction or home improvement project. I am guilty of spending too much money there, often buy things on impulse. But what man doesn't want to expand their tool collection, right?
Lowes is a great place to shop and price them competitively. Although sometimes not enough so to justify not getting the product I needed somewhere else if it is a shorter drive.
Like big-box home improvement retailer to another, there are several brands and models of products that can only be found by going to Lowes and visa versa.
When comparing rates among the same products you can find at Lowes and their rivalry, I have found very little difference. Probably not enough to justify any additional mileage to get there any other home improvement retailers verse. Overall, it seems to be a little more Lowes than their main competitors on most products when comparing apples to apples.
This does not mean that great quote cannot be found in Lowes though. I have bought a lot of tools and other hardware products there and on occasions saved a lot of cash. Notice of sales and specials on what you're looking to maximize your savings.
Research and compare prices with products that you are contemplating a purchase. By doing this, You will ensure that you get the best deal on your purchase if You get it at Lowes or elsewhere.
